Newly Qualified Coach - Congratulations to Sara!
Our congratulations goes to Sara Barwick who last week qualified as a Sheltered Water Coach. Sara becomes the latest and first female club member to qualify as a Kayak Coach.
In June, Sara completed her initial Core Coaching Skills within 2 weeks (normally takes six weeks) which involved attending a number of online group webinar training sessions. It was only when she had passed her Core Coaching Skills could she then begin her 'On the Water' Coach Training which she completed over a number of weekends at the National Water Sport Centre, Holmepierre Point, Nottingham. Finally, her Coaching assessment was successfully completed in Conwy, North Wales late last week.
Also, so far this year, Sara has successfully completed her Paddlesport Instructor's Course, Outdoor First Aid course, Safeguarding Course and a refresher White Water Safety Rescue Course.
Completing all these qualifications in such a short space of time is also another personal achievement and shows her commitment and determination to our sport.
