Annual General Meeting

January 27, 2019

The Club's AGM was held last Friday - thanks to all those members attending.

You new Committee for 2019 is:

Chairman: Andy Dronsfield

Secretary: Jacquie Hall

Treasurer: Dave Puttick

Polo: Damon Grigg

Welfare: Paul Norman

Equipment: Kevin Jezzard

Webmaster: Charles Forrester.

A special thanks goes to Andy and Charles for stepping in to what (for them) are new roles - watch this space for further information as they get up to speed with their positions!!

A reminder that annual subscriptions are now due. You should all be getting a reminder email from Webcollect which (hopefully!) will take you to your system entry where you can then select "Manage/Renew My Subscription" - after clicking through you will get to the point where you can to pay - options are cash/cheque/bank transfer. If you choose bank transfer it will give you the details to make the payment. If you choose cash/cheque then make sure you get it to a Committee member

Of course, you don't have to wait for the email, you can log in now and follow the same steps to renew!!!

One significant change for 2019 is the way the Club intends to communicate with members (and allow members to communicate with each other). There will be a number of special interest WhatsApp groups set up following on from the success of Andy's "BCC Paddling Adventures", which will continue as a group for general touring. Dave Puttick will be setting up one for Sea related issues and I will manage one for White Water. The new Committee expects to have groups set up for Surf, Polo, Lee Valley, and Saturday morning in due course. The one important point to note for this is that if you elect to join a group (and you can leave at any time) then you will be allowing the group to have your mobile number. The club will not divulge that number to anyone outside the group though.

That's it from me as my time on the committee comes to and end - see you all paddling in 2019.
